The LP “The Burning Dawn” by Italian synth-wave artist Confrontational is the mesmerizing final chapter in a trilogy of records including “A Dance of Shadows”, and “Kingdom of Night”. Heavily inspired by the eighties, and carrying its cinematic character with pride, the album is a more twisted, trickier, and to some extent, bolder version of dark synth, compared not only to earlier releases but everything the genre has presented since its resurgence. “The Burning Dawn” sees the return once again of synth virtuoso and composer Cody Carpenter and of Italian darkwave queen Tying Tiffany, as well as Swedish visual and electronic music artist Tobias Bernstrup, and American acid metal musician Trevor William Church. A dark and spotless record, worthy of a continuous repeat.
