On the surface, ‘Giallo Oscuro’ is a pop-oriented project dedicated to Italian love songs from the ’60s. It’s a homage to the music of those “maestri” who have forever changed both pop and cinematic music: Bruno Nicolai, Egisto Macchi, Alessandro Alessandroni, Gruppo Di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza and Ennio Morricone, just to name a few. The sounds that emerge from this golden age are a combination of splendor, grace, lascivity, eroticism, joy, sadness and psychedelia.
