A Piero Piccioni in a rare groove mode, between break acid jazz and deep funk in what is the first vinyl reissue of a minor classic. The variety of themes is impressive, with the Hammond organ often taking the lion’s share. The climate reminds us of the compositions of the late ’60s of the maestro, memorable sessions that would lead to the publication of the classic posthumous ‘Camille 2000’. The wind arrangements are also fascinating, incorporating all the Mediterranean heat through the lines of the US R’n’B.
